The main entrance has step-free access with a wide powered door. There is lift access between ground floor and first floor. There is step free access throughout. There is a wheelchair accessible toilet on the ground floor.  There is no hearing support system. There is no parking available on site, although the department can arrange nearby parking for Blue Badge holders - please contact them directly to request this.

There is no parking available on site. The department can arrange parking for Blue Badge holders at a nearby location. Please contact them directly to request this. 

There is a level courtyard between the pavement and the entrance door. The entrance is level. The door is powered and opens with a push button set at 1 m high. Outside of staffed hours you'll need to use the proximity card reader to active the door - this is set just under the button. The door has a clear width of 1 m. Once inside there is an entrance lobby with the reception desk to the left and security gates and the main open plan space straight ahead.

The reception desk is immediately to the left as you come in through the entrance doors. There is a section of the desk at standing height, and a wheelchair accessible section at  79 cm high - there is no recessed knee space. There is no induction loop at the desk.

There are standard male and female toilets on the ground floor. There is a standard shower on the first floor. 

There is one wheelchair accessible toilet which is located on the ground floor. This opens directly off the main open plan working space.  See below for full details:

• Located on the ground floor directly off the open plan working space
• The door is part of a large wall painting and therefore has not visual contrast with its surrounding
• The door has a clear width of 87 cm
• The dimensions of the toilet are 2 m x 1.5 m
• The door is locked with a twist lock
• The lights turn on automatically 
• There is a horizontal pull bar on the door
• Toilet seat height is 49 cm (recommended height is 48 cm from floor level)
• The cistern can be used as a back rest
• The flush is a spatula type and is located on the wall side of the toilet
• As you face the toilet the transfer space is to the left
• There is a dropdown rail on the transfer side. There are wall mounted grab rails
• There are vertical grab rails either side of the sink
• There is good contrast between the walls and the handrails and other fixtures
• There are no coat hooks
•  There is a mirror above the sink
• There is a pull cord alarm within reach from the toilet. The reset button is on the opposite wall and is out of reach from the toilet.
The sanitary bin is foot operated

There is a passenger lift between the ground floor and first floor. 

At the time of the access audit, the lift was out of action so no further details are available at this time. The Access Guide will be updated when the lift is back in action.

There are stairs between the ground floor and first floor. These have continuous handrails both sides, high contrast edges and an anti-slip surface. There are two level landings.

The entrance door is powered and has a clear width of 1 m. This opens with a push button set at 1 m high. Outside of staffed hours you'll need to use the proximity card reader to active the door - this is positioned just under the push button.

There are security gates by the reception leading to the downstairs open plan area - both of these are powered and have a clear width of 90 cm. The proximity card reader is on top of the column in between the gates and is just under 1 m high. 

There is a powered door opposite reception through to the lift and stair lobby. This has a clear width of 89 cm. This opens with a proximity card reader set at 114 cm high. 

With the exception of the toilets, the rest of the ground floor is open plan and has no doors. With the exception of the toilet doors, the rest of the ground floor is open plan. The door to the accessible toilet is part of a large wall painting and therefore has no visual contrast with its surrounding

The door from the lift and stair lobby through to the working space on the first floor is powered. It has a clear width of 92 cm. This opens with a proximity card reader set at 122 cm high. 

There are manual doors to the meeting and seminar rooms on the first floor. These all have a clear width of around 90 cm. All of the doors are reasonably light to use.

The ground floor has a raised break out space to one end of the room. This can be accessed by steps or a ramp. 

The ramp is in two sections with a level landing halfway along. The first section of the ramp is moderately steep, the second section of the ramp is not steep. There is a handrail to the left (ascending), on the first section of the ramp, but not the second.

Ground floor

There is step free access to the open plan space. This is generally set up with desks and chairs and has plenty of circulation space. The furniture is not fixed and can be rearranged as needed. This area is sometimes used for talks and workshops and can be set up with rows of chairs. There is plenty of space for wheelchairs. 

The accessible toilet is located to one side of this area. 

First floor

There is stair and lift access to the first floor. There is a powered door from the lift and stair lobby into the open plan space. There are desks available, a small kitchen at one end of the room, and smaller offices along one side of the room. There are also small informal break out spaces with a mix of seating.

The seminar room is on the first floor which can be reached by stairs or lift. The door into the seminar room is manually operated and has a clear width of 87 cm. 

There are desks and chairs which can be rearranged as needed.

There is a good amount of circulation space. 

One wall of this room has a glazed screen with a view through to the open plan working area. There are blinds here which can be lowered if required.

There is a raised breakout space on the ground floor. This can be accessed by steps or a ramp. The ramp is in two sections with a level landing halfway along. The first section of the ramp is moderately steep, the second section of the ramp is not steep. There is a handrail to the left (ascending), on the first section of the ramp, but not the second. 

There is a mix of seating in this area with sofas, tables and chairs. There is an area at one end with food and drink available.
